Syllabus
In this semester we will learn Sylow's theorems, ring theory, and field theory. The chapters we will cover are 24 and 12--23.

Grading Policy and Rules

10	Homeworks	(weekly)	20%
2	Midterm I and II	(Tuesday, March 25 and May 6)	40%
1	Final	(Tuesday, June 17)	40%

Assigned homework is collected at the beginning of the lecture hour every Thursday, except the two exam weeks, starting on March 6.
The midterms and the final will be held during regular class time in regular classroom. Please have your photo ID ready for inspection while you take exams.
No late homeworks will be accepted; no make-up exams will be given (except in truly extraordinary circumstances).
Plagiarism in homeworks and cheating in exams are seriously prohibited. While the former will result in a grade of zero for that homework, the latter will result in a grade of zero for the semester. It is your obligation to avoid any suspicion of cheating. Thus, it is important for you to do homeworks on your own; in case some of you are involved in a discussion of some homework problems, then it is required that you present your own version of solution to that problem and give credits to the one who comes up with the main idea or contributes the most.
